PAPILLION, NEBRASKA – The Omaha Lancers continued their dominance of the USHL this week while losing only their fifth game this season. Matt White and Eric Haula continue to lead Omaha’s offensive attack while Jeff Teglia is amongst the top three goalies in all statistical entries. Fargo became the final West Division franchise to lose in overtime this week dropping a close game at home to Des Moines during the shoot out. The USHL will be off of play until New Year’s Eve when teams will resume play.

Omaha 9, Tri-City 2 Omaha, Nebraska – Does anyone want to play Omaha right now? The Lancers have recorded 18 points in the last two games against the second and third place teams in their division. Led by goalie Jeff Teglia, and forwards Ryan Daugherty, Matt White, and Eric Haula, the Lancers have been everyone’s problem. Omaha received help from Dennis Brown’s four points and John Keeney’s 17 saves for the dominating win over in-state rival Tri-City.
December 16, 2009 Waterloo 8, Sioux Falls 7 Sioux Falls, South Dakota – Waterloo would defeat the Stampede via the shootout Wednesday evening by a score of 3-0. Sioux Falls began the game on a great note jumping out to an early three goal lead before they began to give goals back and find themselves in a high scoring sea saw affair. Jimmy Siers and Tyler Barnes led the Black Hawks with three points apiece.
Des Moines 5, Fargo 4 Fargo, North Dakota – It would take a 2-1 seven man shootout for the Buccaneers to catch the Force for the victory. Des Moines received two point night from Austin Coldwell and Mike Fink as Charles Williams would stop 41 shots for the win. Fargo Force defenseman and Shaker Heights, Ohio native Eamonn McDermott recorded three points in the Force’ losing effort in an early celebration of his 18th birthday.
December 18, 2009 Green Bay 5, Lincoln 2 Lincoln, Nebraska – Reed Seckel and Steve Summerhays would lead the first place Gamblers past the lowly Stars for the win. Anchorage, Alaska native Summerhays made 29 saves on 31 shots for his 13th win this season and Reed Seckel recorded a goal and two assists for three points on the evening.
Sioux City 3, Des Moines 2 Sioux City, Iowa – Matt Skoff made 21 saves for the Musketeers winning effort for his seventh win of the season. In the offensive zone, the Muskies were led by Stephan Vigier would record a goal and an assist giving Sioux City their 12th win this season. Of the five goals scored in the game, four would come off of the power play.
Tri-City 7, Waterloo 2 Kearney, Nebraska – USHL Super Star Jaden Schwartz had a stellar evening scoring twice and assisting three times to collect five points in the game. Carson Chubak would stop 35 shots on goal and Tri-City would receive two point nights from Anthony DeCenzo, Brett Mohler, Maxwell Tardy, and Tyler Amburgey.
Fargo 3, Sioux Falls 2 Fargo, North Dakota – Bonus hockey and team efforts were the name of the game for the Stampede and Force as neither team had a player finish with more than a single point and both goalies played well in net. Ryan Massa would stop 25 shots for his fifth win and Chase Grant would score the game winner for his ninth goal of the season.
Chicago 3, Omaha 2 Chicago, Illinois – Nick Pesellini cooled the red hot Lancers making 30 of 32 saves for the Steel to record his ninth win of the season. Mark Anthoine and Andrei Kuchin would lead the offensive attack for Chicago as they would record two points apiece. Omaha’s Matt White scored late in the second period for his 20th goal of the season and 46th point placing him atop of the leader board.
December 19, 2009 Fargo 4, Sioux City 1 Sioux City, Iowa – Fargo received multiply point games from three player in the victory. Chase Grant, Johnnie Seafross, and Joe Rehkamp each recorded two points for the Force. Ryan Massa allowed one goal on 25 shots for his sixth win this season.
Des Moines 6, Waterloo 5 Des Moines, Iowa – Chris Stafne had three points for the victorious Buccaneers while HT Lenz, Ryan Walters, and T.J. Tynan recorded two points apiece. Each team used both of their goalies as Des Moines’ Eric Mihalik and Waterloo’s C.J. Groh would be pulled for allowing five and four goals respectively.
Sioux Falls 3, Lincoln 0 Sioux Falls, South Dakota – Clay Witt stopped 27 shots for the Stampede in route to his ninth win and third shutout this season. The Brandon, Florida native has a 2.35 goals against average this season and a .913 save percentage.
Green Bay 3, Tri City 2 Kearney, Nebraska – Linkoping, Sweden native Karlsson Ludwig scored the only shoot out goal for the Gamblers for the win. Carsen Chubak may have had the best evening of anyone though, as he would stop 40 of 42 shots on net to keep the Storm in the game.
Omaha 4, Chicago 1 Chicago, Illinois – The Chicago Steel were successful on Friday night keeping Omaha’s scoring juggernauts out of the net and off the scoreboard, resulting in a win. However, on Saturday that result was not successful. Matt White scored once, Troy Power tallied three points, and Dakota Eveland also recorded three points for the triumphant Lancers. Yet in the end, it was not just scoring for Omaha. Jeff Teglia stopped 29 shots on goal to allow the Lancers the comfortable victory as the Lancers continue to roll through the first half of this season.
