CHICAGO – After a pair of thrilling series to begin the Clark Cup Playoffs in the Eastern Conference, the Dubuque Fighting Saints and Muskegon Lumberjacks have advanced to the best-of-five Eastern Conference Final.
Both Dubuque and Muskegon knocked off higher seeds in the semifinals. Dubuque held the three seed and swept the second-seeded Cedar Rapids RoughRiders 3-0. Muskegon entered the playoffs with the fourth seed and defeated the Anderson Cup champion Youngstown Phantoms 3-1 in their best-of-five series.
It is the second time that Dubuque and Muskegon will meet in the Clark Cup Playoffs since both organizations joined the USHL for the 2010-11 season. Dubuque defeated Muskegon in a best-of-series in the 2013 Playoffs on their way to capturing the Clark Cup title.
The Saints will have home-ice advantage for the Eastern Conference Final and will open the series in Dubuque on Friday, April 24th.
The winner of this series advances to the Clark Cup Final.
