U S Military UK Hockey Tour – Meet the Mids Edition

Annapolis, MD: While the first half of the hockey season is in the books and the players are preparing for finals, the players were kind enough to answer a few brief questions, and provide some biographical information. The nine Midshipmen are part of the U S Military team that will be playing four professional teams in Scotland and England, along with a group of players from The Citadel.

The players were asked to provide their name, hometown, position, graduation year, and service assignment if graduating in 2019. They were also asked four brief questions as follows: 1. What are you looking forward to most from the trip? 2.If you weren’t on the trip what would you be doing? 3.Do you have anyone traveling with you on the trip? 4. Any other thoughts or comments you would like to add?

With that out of the way……Meet your Midshipmen, by jersey number.

When asked about anyone travelling with him he said “I’m pretty sure Strom Ossenmacher is sitting next to me on the plane. He also added the following, “The boys are thirsty in Atlanta and there is beer in Texarkana.”

I’d definitely be hitting the bi-weekly arm farm.” When asked about who he was travelling with, he responded ” You are never alone when you are with Christ.” He also added, “C.W. McCall said it best: ‘I say , Fabersham. Looks likes the Americans have got themselves another bloody Convoy!'”

Now I am able to experience my favorite sport in a whole new culture. I am really looking forward to seeing the similarities and differences between hockey in the U.S. and hockey in the U.K. If I wasn’t on the team, I would most likely be watching my twin sisters play hockey or playing some pond hockey with them. My father (USNA ’85) plans on coming to Edinburgh for two games.” Emmett also added a statement regarding the first, and only time so far they played with the Citadel guys, “Our first game together was one of the most fun experiences I’ve ever had while playing.
