The second period was a continuation of the first for the Walleye offense as defenseman Matt Caito blasted in a power play goal for his 7th of the season just 15 seconds into the period. Just 46 seconds later Tylor Spink would collect his second goal of the night on a tap in for a 5-0 lead. Caito dumped the puck in from center ice that went off of the glove of goaltender Alex Nedeljikovoc for his second goal of the night at 3:22 of the period two. After a Florida goaltending change, Matt Pohlkamp tapped in a rebound off of an Alex Globke shot for his first professional goal of 6:11 and 7-0 Walleye lead.
Florida would strike for two quick goals in the third period before Tylor Spink collected his third goal of the night at 10:31 of the third period. It is the first professional hat trick for Tylor Spink.
Walleye Notes: Goaltender Jake Paterson had 31 saves and his record is 32-11-1-1 on the season… The 32 wins for Paterson ties him with Jeff Lerg (2014-15) for the most goaltender wins in a single Walleye season… Toledo is unbeaten in twelve straight home games (11-0-1), one game shy of the Walleye record of 13 when the team won 13 straight home games from January 24 through March 13, 2016… The announced attendance of 8,300 on Saturday was the 19th sellout of the season, breaking last year’s mark of 18 sellouts over 36 home games.
