Tucson race past Gulls, 6-3

The San Diego Gulls concluded a two-game road trip with a 6-3 defeat to the Tucson Roadrunners at Tucson Convention Center Arena.

Giovanni Fiore scored on the power play to earn his fourth goal of the season and added an assist for his second multi-point game of 2018-19 (1-1=2).

Troy Terry earned an assist to extend his point and assist streak to six games (3-6=9). The six-game point streak to begin his AHL career set a new Gulls rookie record, passing Fiore’s five game-point streak to begin his AHL career from Oct. 13-25, 2017 (2-3=5). Terry’s six-game assist streak is a club rookie record for assists to begin a Gulls career and the longest current assist streak by a rookie in the AHL. His six consecutive games with an assist is the second longest current assist streak in the AHL behind Iowa’s Brennan Menell’s seven-game assist streak (0-7=7).

Jaycob Megna netted his first goal and second point of the season.

Sam Steel recorded his first career AHL points (assist). Deven Sideroff earned his fourth assist of the campaign, and fourth in as many games.
