Over the weekend, The Devils confirmed the return of one of the Elite League’s top players from last season, Trevor Cox.The 2021-22 season was the first year in Cardiff for Trevor Cox and what a year it was.  Cox finished with 75 points in 70 games (27 goals, 48 assists), which was tied for top spot on the Devils scoring charts in all competitions with Brodie Reid.  He was one of only 4 players to play in every game for the Devils last season.

Cox took over in the playoffs, putting up 8 points in 4 games including a goal and 3 assists in the championship winning game against Belfast.  He was also voted as the Forward of the Year by the fans at the end of the season.

Head Coach Brodie Dupont on the signing of Cox:

“Trevor Cox is a dynamic player and was one of the best forwards in the league last season.

“He is fast, shifty, has great hands and incredible vision. He makes the players around him better.  His game improved as the season went on and he was dominant in the playoffs.

“He did great things last season, but I am excited to see what 2022-23 has in store for Coxxy. We have his whole line back now and they complement each other so well.  They can take over games for us and we saw that at times last season, and we really saw it in the playoffs.
