Toledo’s Kestner wins ECHL scoring title

Brampton’s David Vallorani finished second with 71 points (31g-40a), followed by Tyler Sheehy of Allen with 70 points (26g-44a) and Cincinnati’s Jesse Schultz with 64 points (25g-39a). Brady Ferguson of Newfoundland (24g-39a) and Toledo’s Shane Berschbach (20g-43a) were tied for fifth with 63 points each.

Kestner also led the ECHL with 33 goals while finishing tied for seventh with 40 assists. He was second in the league with 212 shots on goal and tied for seventh with eight power-play goals. Kestner finished the season strong, tallying 20 points (11g-9a) over his final 10 games.

A native of Huntsville, Alabama, Kestner has recorded 122 points (55g-67a) in 119 career ECHL games with Toledo and Newfoundland. He added 16 points (9g-7a) in 21 games during the 2019 Kelly Cup Playoffs, helping lead the Growlers to the Kelly Cup title.
