FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Jake Paterson picked up 30 saves but the Walleye dropped a 1-0 overtime game Saturday night in Fort Wayne. Toledo is unbeaten in regulation over seven straight games (4-0-3) and has an overall record of 8-5-1-3 while 6-4-1-2 on the road.
A scoreless first period saw goaltender Jake Paterson steal the show posting 13 saves. Paterson was at it again in the second when he robbed Komets forward Mike Embach halfway through the period. Fort Wayne goaltender Spencer Martin took away a great scoring chance from Marek Tvrdon late in the second period.
For the first time this season, Toledo was headed to overtime with neither team scoring. A power play chance for Fort Wayne in the overtime allowed the Komets to pick up the game-winning goal at 3:27 as Cody Corbett blasted a one-timer past Paterson.
