TOLEDO, OH -Tyson Spink netted a hat trick in front of a standing room only crowd of 8,300 as the Walleye defeated Brampton 4-0 Saturday night. Toledo has an overall record of 25-6-0-1 and is 10-2-0-1 at home.
It took into the second period before either team found the back of the net. At 15:45 of the second period Tyler Sikura fed a perfect pass across to Tyson Spink who ripped a one-timer into the back of the net for his thirteenth goal of the season. Four minutes later Tyson Spink did it again this time capitalizing on a rebound at the side of the net for a 2-0 Walleye lead after two periods.
Tyson would complete the hat trick at 8:29 of the third period with a wrist shot from the left circle. The first time Spink scored three goals was a four goal outburst against Brampton on October 22, 2016. Defenseman Frank Misuraca (first of the season) capped the scoring for the Walleye at 9:48.
Walleye Notes: Goaltender Jake Paterson in his eighth straight start, stopped all 21 shots he faced and his record is now 15-5-0-1 on the season. The shutout was the third of the season for Paterson.
