Tkachuk rallies Senators to OT win over Rangers Rangers pick up needed point - Update to follow

In New York the Ottawa Senators’ Brady Tkachuk scored with less than a minute left on the regulation clock to force extra time with the Rangers on Friday night.

His goal tied the game, 2-2.

In the extra session Tkachuk scored the game-winner with 18 seconds left for a 3-2 win.

Ben Chariot set up both goals from Tkachuk.

Cam Talbot made 25 saves in the Senators win.

Ottawa improved to 9-13-1.

Vitali Kravtsov scored in the first period to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead on his first goal of the season.

Ottawa got even at 1-1 on a power play strike from Tim Stutzle.

The Rangers dropped to 11-9-5, but did pick up the loser’s point.

Mika Zibanejad scored in the third period restore the Rangers lead at 2-1.

Zibanejad missed on a breakaway in the extra session.

Igor Shesterkin made 34 saves.
