Titans win 10th straight; demolish Prowlers 9-2

unnamed DANBURY, CT — Phil Bronner and Ryan Patsch both recorded a hat trick as the Danbury Titans rolled over the Port Huron Prowlers 9-2 on Saturday night.
The Prowlers would jump out to an early lead courtesy of Jared Hicks less than 4 minutes into the game. They would extend their lead to two with a power play goal from Scott Witmyer, but Dean Yakura would answer back for the Titans less than a minute later. The first period would end with Port Huron holding a 2-1 lead.

Danbury’s Nikita Ivandikov would be perfect for the balance of the game as the Titans would explode for six goals and set a franchise record for goals in the second period. John Scorcia would tie the game on the power play only 36 seconds into the period. The momentum of the game would turn with Ryan Patsch’s short handed breakaway goal at the 12:52 mark. The goal would sap the energy from the Prowlers as Danbury’s offense found another gear. Bronner would score a minute and a half later, followed by 3 goals in a span of 1:02. Mike Driscoll would score the first, then Patsch would score twice in 27 seconds to complete his hat trick. After ending the first period down 2-1, the Titans would end the second up 7-2.

In the third period, Bronner would score 19 seconds in, and follow it up by completing his own hat trick with 10 minutes remaining in the game. Danbury has now scored 20 goals in their last two games, and 37 goals in their last five. With the win, Danbury extends their franchise high winning streak to 10 games, a league high for the season. Danbury also extends their franchise and league home winning streak to 11 games, stretching back to February 6th.
