The BHF is one of Telford’s official charities for the current English Premier League season, alongside The Stay Project.

Paul Baker, VP of Red Hockey Ltd., was delighted with the response of everyone involved with The Tigers.

He said: “It was a great night for both the club and the British Heart Foundation. Fans gave through bucket collections, as well as pledges from sponsors.

“We are always happy to help with good causes and use our position in the community to raise their profile.

“Both Tom and Andy have very close links to the British Heart Foundation, and they were very happy to record messages for the crowd.”

Representatives from the BHF were on hand at the game to explain the charity’s aims and hand out information.

Warren Appleby, from the British Heart Foundation, said: “The Tigers staff, players and fans were so supportive on Sunday and that is reflected in the amount of money we raised.

“We heard some amazing stories, and many people had their own personal reasons for supporting what we do.

“It was a great night and the proceeds will go towards supporting the vital work that the British Heart Foundation carries out.”
