Tigers NIHL coach Jason Parry is determined to return from weekend games in Sheffield and Whitely with at least two points in his back pocket.
The Telford youngsters travel to face Sheffield Spartans on Saturday afternoon, before a tough encounter with Whitley Warriors just 24 hours later.
Victory in either game would be a useful fillip for Parry’s squad, as they approach the business end of the Moralee Conference campaign.
The Tigers currently sit joint-third in the standings with Solihull Barons, although Billingham are only three points adrift – and have a game in hand.
Parry said: “We have beaten Sheffield once this season, drawn with them and lost to them, so the target is to definitely take two points and win the mini-series.
“Anyone can be beaten on their day and that goes for Whitley as well. We’ve drawn with the Warriors and lost twice, but only by a single goal.
“It is a tough place to go, but we’ll give them a good game on Sunday night and ideally come away with the points.”
Parry will be hoping his injury-ravaged squad has recovered from last weekend, when they followed a 4-2 home win over Sutton with a 4-2 defeat in the return game.
He added: “You have got to keep on pushing at this stage of the season and we’ll probably be short again this weekend, due to injuries.
“The goods news is that we‘ve got some guys coming back, so there will be some changes. They’ve all played together before, and it should help us quite a bit.
“Every weekend is important from now on, so we just need to keep the pace with the other teams. If we can carry on with what we’re doing, we’ll be fine.”
Saturday’s game against the Spartans, at Ice Sheffield, starts at the earlier time of 1.30pm, while Sunday’s match in Whitley faces off at 5pm.
