Tigers supporters can grill double-winning coach Tom Watkins during the first in a series of ‘question & answer’ sessions before Sunday’s visit of Basingstoke Bison.
Watkins, who guided Telford to the EPL title and British Challenge Cup last season, will be in The Tigers Bar at Telford Ice Rink, between 4.35pm and 4.45pm.
The GB under-20s coach will be on hand to answer pre-submitted questions about his team’s tactics, signings and prospects for the defence of their titles this season.
He said: “This is the first time we’ve done something like this in Telford, so I am really looking forward to it. I want to make these sessions engaging, for both myself and the fans.
“I like the fact that we can use events like this to get close to the supporters. They are, after all, the lifeblood of this club. Without them, there wouldn’t be a Telford Tigers.”
Watkins, who was also appointed assistant coach of the GB senior side last season, is looking forward to answering questions in front of supporters.
“I want fans to get the inside view of what happens at this club, from day to day,” he added.
“There are plenty of subjects that I am happy to talk about quite openly. Coaching an ice hockey team has many different facets, so I hope to give a good insight into my job.”
It is envisaged that the sessions will be held on a monthly basis.
