Three games round off Week 8 in EIHL

Week 8 of the 2025/26 Elite Ice Hockey League season rounds off with three games on Sunday.

At 4pm in Glasgow, it’s a must-win Challenge Cup clash for the Clan as they host Dundee Stars. The teams face each other twice to close out Group B, and the maths is simple: Dundee need to out-point the Clan over those games to secure at least a place in the Elimination Game. For Glasgow, the pressure is on; a regulation loss would leave them four points adrift with only one game remaining and out of the competition.

An hour later in Kirkcaldy, Fife Flyers welcome Sheffield Steelers with both teams on opposite ends of the form table. The Flyers have lost 11 straight and remain bottom of the standings with no points from seven league games, while the Steelers could go top with a win, having taken 11 of a possible 14 points so far. Flyers fans will still remember fondly their home win over Sheffield last season, a result that ultimately cost the Yorkshire side the league title.

In Guildford, the Flames host Cardiff Devils in a Challenge Cup fixture that has little bearing on the standings, with both sides already eliminated. However, both have plenty of to play for with the Devils chasing a four-point weekend, while the Flames are desperate to halt their losing run. With several senior players still out injured, Guildford are expected to ice a number of two-way additions for the game.
