Third outburst sends Isles over Detroit, 4-1 Lee has pair in third period - -Update to follow

In Elmont, the Islanders kept up the pressure on everyone around with a 4-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday afternoon.

After a scoreless first period, the Red Wings took a 1-0 lead in the middle frame on a goal from Dylan Larkin.

Detroit was unable to hold the lead as the Isles posted four goals in the third period to take the win.

Ilya Sorokin made 22 saves to get the win.

New York improved to 32-25-8.

Zach Parise tied the game early in the third, and Anders Lee scored the first of two in the period for a 2-1 advantage before the-five minute mark.

Detroit dropped to 28-25-9.

Kyle Palmieri hot off the power play at 15:41 for a 3-1 lead to the Islanders.

Lee added his second at 17:21 for the 4-1 final. The goal came after a steal at the Detroit blue line and a wrister from the left circle.

Magnus Hellberg  made 19 saves in the Detroit loss.
