The Top NHL Teams Starting The 2021-22 Season

There are currently 32 teams in the NHL so getting the season off to a good start is crucial. Teams will do almost anything they can to get the one up on their opponents. Starting the season off on a good note can get the momentum going and carry you through the whole season. Now, we’re not saying that just because you start the season well that it means you’ll finish with a Stanley Cup. However, there is no denying the fact that if you can get the momentum going early, it can have a knock-on effect. So why don’t we go ahead and take a look at some of the teams who have started off the 2021-22 season right.

The NHL Power Rankings can be a great way to see how teams are doing or to even try and predict who might win the Stanley Cup. There is no direct science to predicting who may win, but instead, people use loads of data and analytics to try and do their best to mimic the outcome. While there are a number of variables to consider, team and player stats are a great way to help you with your predictions.

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could predict who was going to win each game? While there is never a guarantee, it is easier than ever to find the top NHL betting picks these days. These picks can help you to look at the odds on which team will win the game and can even link you through to sites to bet on your favorite team! I mean, if your team is going to win anyway, you mind as well capitalize on it a bit if you can!

5)  Coming in hot and just skating into the #5 spot is the Minnesota Wild. They are in a very good Central Division but are currently looking like the best of them all. The Wild are currently on a 3 game win streak which sees them sitting atop the division with an 8 wins and 3 loss record. They are also the only team in their division to not have an Overtime Loss (OTL) so things are definitely looking very good for them!

4) Toronto Maple Leafs are holding up what could be considered the 4th best start of the season. They are currently sitting at 7 wins and 5 losses with only 1 overtime loss. The Maple Leafs are in the Atlantic Division with some very heavy hitters but are currently sitting in the #2 spot, respectively. The Leafs are looking to shake off their current 1 loss streak when they face off against the Flyers on Thursday.

3) The Edmonton Oilers are coming in 3rd and have two of the highest-scoring players in the league. Both Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl are scoring machines and can almost score at will. The pair are helping to carry the Oilers who currently have a 9 win and 1 loss record. The Oilers are currently sitting atop the Pacific Division with the Calgary flames a few games back.

2) The number 2 and 1 spots could have gone either way. Well, up until this past Saturday when the Florida Panthers gave the North Carolina Hurricanes their first regulation loss. However, the Hurricanes are still sitting at the top of the Metropolitan Division with a record of 9 wins and the 1 loss that the Panthers so gracefully gave them.

1) It should now come as no surprise that currently, the Florida Panthers are off to the best start of the season. They must not get complacent though as they are trying to recover from their first regulation loss which they have just suffered to the New York Rangers. The Panthers are leading the Atlantic Division with 10 wins, 1 loss, and 1 OTL. Hopefully, this is not a sign of things to come for the Panthers and they can make a swift recovery and pounce back into action.

It has definitely been an exciting start to the beginning of the NHL season with plenty more action coming up. The race between the top 10 teams or so is quite close and the standings could easily change in the coming weeks. Look for the Panthers and Hurricanes to get back on their feet and try to continue their domination of the league. Both teams have only just suffered their first regulation loss so if they can turn things around now, it may just be a very long season for the rest of the league. The race up to the new year is well underway and I, for one, can’t wait to see where everyone stands at the start of 2022!
