The Ice Wolves weekend in review PHN's Best Shots of the Game

ALBUQUERQUE – 1This past weekend the NAHL hosted the Odessa Jackalopes for a pair of games with huge playoff implications. Odessa came in only a single point ahead of New Mexico for fifth place in the Southern Division.

New Mexico would start the scoring early Friday, when Andrey Moskvitin scored his first NAHL goal just 2:34 into the first. Nicholas Arrington would quickly tie it up 5:19 in, but after that it would be all Ice Wolves. Johnny Johannson and Herman Asberg would add a pair in the first, while Francois De Villiers would net one in the second and Sloan Farmer would add insurance early in the third giving the Ice Wolves a 5-1 victory and move them into fifth place.

Saturday night was a tighter match up along with some fisticuffs. Toivo Laaksonen and Andy Earl would put the Ice Wolves up 2-0 after one, but the Jackalopes would tie it up in the second with goals from Jack L’Esperance and Chris Graves. Just over a minute later, the gloves came off when Ice Wolves defenseman and receht D-1 commit Max Matthews It wouldn’t stay tied for long, as less than 4 minutes later Sloan Farmer scored his second of the weekend putting the Ice Wolves ahead for good. Francois De Villiers would also add his second of the weekend sealing the 4-2 win and a 4 game winning streak.
