24 January has seen 31 games played since the Elite League was founded in 2003/04. Historically, it has been a good day for road teams, who have won 18 of those fixtures.

Only four games on this date have gone to overtime, none since Glasgow beat Cardiff in 2023, while the last penalty shootout came in Sheffield’s win in Dundee in 2016. Five teams have been shut out on 24 January, most recently Coventry against Sheffield in 2024. Notably, all five shutouts on this date were recorded by road teams, with Sheffield responsible for three of them.
Belfast have won over 80% of their home league games against Dundee historically and have not dropped a point to the Stars so far this season in the league at the SSE Arena, putting them on 31 wins from 38 meetings overall.
Fife have just five victories from 35 league visits to Cardiff. On average, the Flyers are beaten 4-1 in the Welsh capital and were shut out on their only trip there this season.
One win apiece in league play this season keeps Nottingham’s home record over Guildford narrowly in the Panthers’ favour. Nottingham have won 12 of the 22 meetings between the sides at the Motorpoint Arena, compared to 10 for the Flames.
Sheffield’s home league record against Manchester Storm stands at over a 90% win rate. The teams have one win each this season, although Storm’s victory just before the turn of the year was only their third in Sheffield compared to 22 for the Steelers. The sides have never required overtime or a shootout in a league fixture at the Utilita Arena.
