NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas – Brahmas defenseman Justin Kinnunen has been named to the starting lineup in the CHL’s 2008 All-Star game to be held in Loveland, Colorado on January 14, 2009.
Kinnunen, a fifth year CHL veteran is no stranger to the All Star jersey as he was named as a reserved to the prestigious roster as well as being the lone representative for the Texas Brahmas at the 2007 – 08 All Star game.
For the current 2008-09 season, Kinnunen has earned 15 points (5G, 10A) to accompany his +10 rating which ties him for a team best. With 92 career assists, the defenseman is just eight points shy of the 100 assist point mark.
“We are very proud of Kinnunen representing the Brahmas in the game. It is great to see him get the recognition from around the league,” Brahmas head coach Dan Wildfong siad about the announcement.
The 2008 CHL All Star game will play under a new format this year with CHL All-Stars playing against the league champion Colorado Eagles.
