In Vancouver, the Anaheim Ducks rolled on, Tuesday night , in a 3-2 win over the Canucks.
Troy Terry hit for a goal and two points to extend his point streak to 12 games.
His goal in extra time gave the Ducks the win.
John Gibson, who made 41 saves in the Anaheim win.
“I can’t even talk about the goal before talking about our goalie,” Terry said (Bally Sports West). “He was our rock from the first period all the way to when that puck went in the net. He stood on his head for us tonight. He made three unreal saves in overtime. He is our backbone and he’s incredible.”
Elias Pettersson scored the tying goal with 55 seconds left on the regulation clock to get the Canucks even, 2-2. The goal was shorthanded with the extra attakcer on for Vancouver.
J.T. Miller also scored for Vancouver.
“We’ve been playing well,” Miller said. “We have to keep evaluating ourselves honestly, and honestly we played another good hockey game. We still have things to take care of on the special teams, we could always grow there, but I think those will come. We have to stay on the same page five-on-five and trust that more nights than not we’re going to get four, five, maybe six goals.”
Isac Lundestrom was credited with a Ducks goal in regulation after the puck rattled off both legs of Miller and into the net.
“It hit both of my legs. I think if the puck was flat it would have been fine, but I think it rolled up,” Miller said. “Unfortunate.”
Anaheim improved to 7-4-3.
“You got to win some of the ugly ones too,” Anaheim’s Ryan Getzlaf said. “We didn’t play very well tonight and we know that in our locker room, but sometimes you need your goaltender to save you games, and tonight he did. Our guys did a good job of rebounding after giving up a couple late goals like that, and our goaltender made two big saves in overtime to keep us in that thing.”
Cam Fowler scored off the power play for the Ducks in regulation.
Jaroslav Halak made 27 saves in the Vancouver loss.
