Tigers head coach Tom Watkins is set to demand a change in focus from his squad after they lost 4-1 to Basingstoke Bison on Sunday evening.
The defeat was Telford’s third home loss in succession, as they look to make a start to their English Premier League title defence.
The Tigers failed to make the most of a healthy start when Basingstoke snatched the lead on 34 minutes, before they replied to make it 1-1 in the third period.
And despite enjoying the majority of possession later on, the county men were unable to make their dominance pay off in a frantic third session.
Watkins said: “I’m really disappointed with the performance tonight and we didn’t take a number of good opportunities to score.
“To give up bad goals, with the timing in the third period, really deflated us with six minutes to go.
“I thought for the majority of the game we had complete control of the puck, possession and territory. But we didn’t take our chances and that cost us.”
Nathan Salem was the only scorer for Telford during the middle session, as the encounter threatened to boil over on several occasions.
But Watkins believes his side should be prepared for a physical approach from visiting teams.
He added: “It is all about how you bounce back and respond to situations. We gave away a goal and then another, almost straight away. That can’t happen, whatever the stage of the game.
“I was disappointed with our focus at that point and the guys need to be better. They need to take the expectation on them and turn it around.
“Giving up three home games on the bounce is something that should never happen here.”
Telford return to action next weekend, when they travel to face Milton Keynes Lightning on Saturday, before the visit of Peterborough Phantoms on Sunday (6pm).
