Team Canada opens World Cup with 6-0 drubbing of Team Czech Republic

TORONTO – No rust was evident on Team Canada in their opening match with Team Czech Republic on Saturday.  A 6-0 drubbing sent Team Canada to a fast start in the World Cup of Hockey tournament.

Carey Price was returning to the nets after a lost 201-16 season for the Montreal Canadiens.

Price had 27 saves for the shutout in his first competitive game since November 25 of last year.

Brad Marchand, Sidney Crosby, Jonathan Toews, Joe Thornton, Alex Pietrangelo, and Patrice Bergeron had the goals for Team Canada in a dominating effort that had Czech Republic lost on the ice.
