Tampa double up Flyers, 6-3 Kucherov nets hat trick - Update to follow

PHILADELPHIA – The visiting Tampa Bay Lightning scored twice in each period on Tuesday and doubled up the Flyers, 6-3.

Nikita Kucherov hit for a hat trick and four points in the win.

Andrei Vasilevskiy made 29 saves in the win.

The Lightning improved to 25-18-5 off their sixth win in seven games.

Tampa took a 2-0 lead in the opening stanza, starting with a strike by Brayden Point at 1:46  for a 1-0 lead.

Kucherov potted his first of the night at 18:45, just as a power play ended for a 2-0 advantage headed to the middle frame.

The Flyers dropped to 25-17-6 off their third straight loss.

Kucherov collected his double on a power play at 2:24 of the second period for a 3-0 lead to the Lightning.

Cam Atkinson got the Flyers on the board midway through the second to trim the deficit to 3-1.

The Flyers shaved the Tampa lead to 3-2 when Jamie Drysdale hit off the power play at 14:04.

Tampa replied with a power play goal by Michael Eyssimont at 17:42 for a 4-2 advantage headed to the third period.

In the third, the Flyers got one back on a marker from Cam York with 42 seconds of fresh ice used in the third period for a 4-3 count to Tampa..

Cam York made it 4-3 42 seconds into the third period when he scored on a rebound off his own shot. He whacked the puck from mid-air past Vasilevskiy.

The score stayed that way until Brandon Hagel hit an empty net with 60 seconds left on the regulation clock for a 5-3 lead.

Kucherov collected his hats with an empty-net marker with 11 seconds left in the game for the 6-3 final on the scoreboard.
