Navy women defeat Air Force, 12-1

ANNAPOLIS, MD: On Friday, October 18,2024 the United States Naval Academy’s women’s hockey team took on the United States Air Force Academy in a late afternoon tilt.

Navy defeated the Falcons, who only had six players on the bench by a final of 12-1.

The two teams took to the ice again on Saturday.

Navy women have next weekend off, but will play games against Villanova on Friday, November 1, University of Delaware on Saturday, and Liberty University on Sunday.

All games are at McMullen Arena at the Brigade Sports Complex in Annapolis. Game times are 7 pm, 11 am and 10 am respectively.


Navy downs Boston in women’s match up

Annapolis, MD: On Saturday, March 2, 2024 the Navy women’s hockey team defeated the Boston University team by a final score of 4-1.

It was Navy’s last home game of the season, and was used as a warmup for the ACHA Women’s D2 National Championship Tournament.

The first period saw Navy jump out to a 3-0 lead, while putting up 12 shots to Boston’s 8.

Neither team scored in the second period, with Navy putting 10 more shots on goal to 7 shots from Boston. Both teams scored in the third to make the final score 4-1.

Navy finished with 36 shots on goal, while Boston University put 19 shots on goal.

High Point University claims Women’s Title

Winston-Salem, NC: On Sunday, February 18, 2024, High Point University Women’s Club Hockey team defeated Virgina Tech’s Women’s Club team in the ACCHL Championship game.

The final score was 9-2.

The game followed the semifinals on Saturday.  In the first game of the day, Virginia Tech defeated University of Virgina 6-5 in double overtime.

After the on-ice celebration, it was time for Georgetown University to face off against High Point University.

High Point would win 7-1. The following is a pictorial essay of the day’s event.

Navy women win matinee over Maryland

Annapolis, MD: The Navy Women’s hockey team held on to defeat the University of Maryland in an intra-state matchup, 3-2.

The game, which started at 11am, was a hard fought, tight contest.

The Terps got on the board first, but it was the Midshipmen scoring the next three.

With approximately 1:30 remaining in the game, Maryland would finish the game’s scoring.

Navy finished the 2023 portion of the season, while Maryland will play the University of Delaware next weekend.

 

Naval Academy Women blank Penn

Annapolis, MD: On Sunday, October 1, 2023, the U S Naval Academy Women’s Hockey Club took on the University of Pennsylvania’s Women’s Hockey Club.

The mid-afternoon game came after the Navy Men’s D2 team played Penn State University Harrisburg.

While the Navy men’s team was unable to secure a victory, the women’s team was able to shut out the University of Pennsylvania by a final score of 4-0.
