Biloxi, MS- – The Sea Wolves were looking to build off their 2-1 win over the Carolina Thunderbirds on Friday night. 
On Saturday, the T-Birds exacted a measure of revenge in a 5-3 decision.
Cody Karpinski, who had taken the loss on Friday, made 18 saves for the win on Saturday.
Carolina improved to 19-9-1-4-3.
The two teams traded goals in the opening stanza for a 2-2 tie headed to the middle frame.
Carolina jumpe3d out to a 1-0 lead on a strike by Jan Salak at 6:46 of the first.
The Sea Wolves replied with a marker from Yianni Liarakos just over two minutes later for a 1-1 tie.
Carolina responded to that goal when Nate Keeley scored midway through the first for a 2-1 lead to the T-Birds.
Mississippi tied it up on a strike by Sam Turner at 16:23 to send the game to the middle frame, knotted at 2-2.
The Sea Wolves dropped to 14-18-2-2-2.
In the period period, Carolina hit for a p[air of goals to take a 4-2 lead in the game.
Roman Kraemer (3:31) and Kalib Ford (10:34) were the T-Birds strikers.
The Sea Wolves got one back when Liarakos hit for a double, off the power play, at 16:54 of the period to make it 4-3 going into the third period.
The third was uneventful until the T-Birds’ Dawson Baker scored an empty-net goal with six seconds left on the regulation clock for the 5-3 final count on the scoreboard.
