BRISBANE, Australia – Saturday’s game Melbourne Ice found the back of the net through Lasse Larsen and assisted by Lliam Webster. Both teams were playing the game at a frantic pace and it seemed to be scrappy in some places, Which surprisingly for the entire game there was only eight penalty minutes.
Melbourne Ice scored in the second period through the defense man Paul Baranzelli to have a lead 2-0.
The Sydney Bears were relentless in front of the net and controlling the puck and were able to fight back to even the score at the end of the third period to 2 all. The Sydney Bears scores were Ryan Annesley and Tomas Landa. Melbourne Ice wins in a shootout 3-2.
Sunday’s game and both teams were sniping at each other and getting frustrated as the ref was not making the necessary calls. Melbourne Ice again prevailed and found the back of the net first with a shot on goal from Jason Baclig.
The players from both sides were not letting up but hit did seem that Melbourne Ice controlled the puck and the game with a total of 43 shots on goal, where as the Sydney Bears only had 26 shots on goal.
