In the sweep of NHL free agency, it was clear again that teams were settling in and signing established prospects in their systems and recently players. The New York Rangers did both as they signed Hartford Wolf Pack forward Oscar Lindberg to a two-year deal worth more than a million dollars. In addition, the Rangers signed newly
acquired restricted free agent Emerson Etem to a one-year deal estimated at under the million dollar line. Etem was acquired from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Carl Hagelin who would have commanded significantly more than Etem as a restricted free agent.
Both players are 23-years of age giving the club a more youthful look on the books.
The Buffalo Sabres signed Mark Pysyk to a two-year deal on Tuesday. Over the last years, Pysyk, a defenseman, has played 70 games with the Sabres and split time with the Rochester Americans in the AHL.
The Montreal Canadiens signed Michael Bournival to a one-year, two-way deal. In 29 games this past season, the forward picked up three goals and two assists and split time with AHL Hamilton Bulldogs.
