Sweden remains perfect on Group B, shut out France, 4-0

Sweden displayed another strong performance in their third preliminary round matchup, blanking France 4-0.

Three of Sweden’s four goals came in the first period, including one from Toronto Sceptres forward Sara Hjalmarsson, her second of the tournament. Hjalmarsson also picked up an assist in the contest, bringing her point total to four through three games played.

Former Boston Fleet netminder Emma Söderberg earned the shutout between the pipes, stopping all 14 French shots she faced.

Sweden sits atop the Group B standings with a perfect nine points and a staggering +12 goal differential. The Swedes will close out preliminary round play on Tuesday at 6:10 AM ET against Japan as they look to enter the knockout stages undefeated.
