There were many folks who thought Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson could go as high as the third overall pick in the 2009 draft. Therefore you can be sure the Edmonton Oilers were delighted when they could snag him with the tenth overall pick in the draft.
Paarjarvi-Svensson, who should be a favorite of custom jersey makers everywhere, is known as a highly-skilled player who could become a dynamic scorer at the NHL-level. He played in the Swedish Elite league last winter and was not out of place as he picked up 17 points with Timra.
“The sky is the limit for Magnus. He’s a very skilled and creative player,” said Timra coach Stephan Lundh. “Magnus is a player who has a good attitude and does his best every game and practice. He wants to improve and he likes the challenge.”
PHN analysis; this looks like a steal as several teams jumped ahead of the CSB rankings and picked lower ranked players. This allowed Paajarvi-Svensson to drop from the top five where he was projected down to tenth overall.
