Sundogs unveil logo and jerseys for 2012 All-Star Game

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. – The Arizona Sundogs, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League, have unveiled the logo and uniforms for the 2012 CHL All-Star Game, set to be played at Tim’s Toyota Center in Prescott Valley, Arizona on Wednesday, January 11th.
Local media and fans were in attendance on Thursday afternoon as Sundogs co-owners Brad Fain, Ed Lepordo and Laura Markey, along with Head Coach Marco Pietroniro, unveiled the All-Star Game logo.
“This logo and the jerseys has truly been a group effort,” Fain said. “Everyone from the staff contributed something to the finished product.  We’re proud of how it turned out. This is something that belongs to the community, and we’re excited to tie this event into the Centennial celebration of the state of Arizona.”
The commemorative mark, consisting of colors red, black, blue, silver and gold, includes the Arizona Sundogs’ primary ‘S’ logo as part of the All-Star word mark and the Central Hockey League crest. The background of the logo is derived from the official state flag and overall geographic shape of the state of Arizona and is representative of the state’s upcoming Centennial celebration in 2012.
Adrenalin, Inc., the same branding agency responsible for the design of the team’s original logo package, was selected to create the 2012 All-Star Game logo.

“We were thrilled to be working with the Sundogs again,” Dan Price, President and co-founder of Adrenalin said. “The ideas and the concept they came up with was wonderful and everyone is happy with the final look.”
The logo will appear in marketing and branding materials, be included on the right shoulder of the Sundogs’ regular season jerseys and will be featured at center ice of Tim’s Toyota Center throughout the 2011-12 season.
Returning Sundogs players Tyler Butler and Luke Erickson were also on hand for the event to reveal the complete uniforms for the mid-season showcase.
Produced by Athletic Knit, the All-Star uniforms are white and trimmed in black and red with ‘CHL’ across the front. The Sundogs’ uniforms are red with white and black trim and ‘Arizona’ on the front. Both jerseys feature three stars down each side – six total – to represent the Sundogs’ six years of operation as a franchise. The All-Stars will wear black pants, while the Sundogs will wear red.
“We wanted the uniforms to have a unique, but clean, look,” Lepordo said.  “We feel we’ve achieved that. They’re sharp, the letters and numbers are easy to read, and we like the all-red look the Sundogs’ players will have on the ice.”
“The Arizona Sundogs have developed a first-class logo and jersey design for the All-Star Game next January,” CHL Commissioner Duane Lewis said.  “The team was able to show these to the rest of the member clubs at our Summer Conference, and were met with a great response. We look forward to displaying these during the CHL All-Star Game.”
A limited selection of 2012 All-Star Game merchandise is available now at the Arizona Sundogs Team Store. Additional items will be added leading up to the game. For more information on the All-Star Game and the Sundogs’ upcoming season, visit arizonasundogs.com .
