Stockton, CA. – Stockton’s offensive attack was stifled in the 1-0 loss to Bakersfield by rookie goaltender Dylan Wells who stopped all 27 shots. 
Bakersfield scored the game’s only goal at the 12:31 mark of the opening period.
Josh Currie’s seventh goal of the year was the difference in the one-goal game. Stockton had a terrific scoring chances in the opening period, including two looks right in front of the goal for Dillon Dube.
Lazar was denied later in the night on a sprawling glove save from the rookie netminder that left Lazar in disbelief in the slot. Wells led Bakersfield to their second straight win as the rookie collected his first AHL win.
Stockton received solid goaltending on the other end of the ice as Nick Schneider stopped 30 of 31 shots in goal for the Heat. Schneider picks up just his third loss of the season in the 1-0 game.
Stockton has allowed just six goals over their last three games, but they are searching for an offensive spark with only four goals in the team’s last three contests.
Special teams played a very limited role in tonight’s game.
There was a total of just eight penalty minutes in the game.
Stockton had a power play late in the third period with the goalie pulled, but were unable to equalize.
