NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Washington Capitals and American Hockey League’s Hershey Bears, announced that they have agreed to terms with forward Stan Cooley for the 2025-26 season.
Cooley, 23, starts his professional career with the Stingrays following four years at Colorado College. During the 2024-25 season, Cooley captained the Tigers and tied a career high with six goals while adding six assists in 37 games. The Regina, Saskatchewan native was also an alternate captain for Colorado during his sophomore and junior campaigns. He set a career-high during the 2022-23 season with 20 points (6g-14a). Overall in his collegiate career, Cooley posted 64 points (23g-41a) in 148 games.
Prior to his time at Colorado College, Cooley played with the Lincoln Stars in the United States Hockey League, tallying 19 points (7g-12a) after spending two seasons with the Spruce Grove Saints in the Alberta Junior Hockey League. He was named to the AJHL All-Rookie Team in the 2018-19 season and had 69 points (26g-43a) in 136 games with Spruce Grove.
