Steelhawks end Dundas winning streak

DUNDAS—Fate dealt the Dundas Real McCoys a bad hand tonight they watched their seven-game winning streak end with a 7-3 loss to the Hamilton Steelhawks in Allan Cup Hockey action in the JL Grightmire Arena.

Tonight was Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Night for the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, and appropriately, Darren Haydar of the McCoys who suffers from the disease picked the McCoys final goal of the game. A portion of every ticket that was sold was donated to the Society.

The next action for Dundas is Sunday (February 2nd) against the Brantford Blast at 7:30 p.m. in the Brantford Civic Centre.

Sunday while the world watches National Football League’s championship final, the McCoys will be re-grouping in the Telephone City.

Tonight, Dundas put forth a game effort, but the Steelhawks continued their mastery over the McCoys by winning their sixth consecutive game of the season against their hosts.

Josh Ranalli paced the Steelhawks with three goals, while Brandon Maclean added a goal and three assists.  Josh Soares, Bryan Mcgregor, and Bryan Cameron scored once each. Paul Zanette set up three of the Hamilton goals with David Ling, and Chris Leveille assisting on two goals each.  For Dundas, Trevor Atkinson, Shawn Snider, and Haydar scored once each.  Kevin Harvey set up two of the Dundas scoring plays.
