SHEFFIELD, UK – New signing Geoff Walker started his Steelers career off in style with a goal and an assist as the Steelers dominated Wednesday’s game at ice Sheffield with a commanding 6-1 victory.
Steelers scorers this evening were Levi Nelson, Andreas Valdix, John Armstrong, Jonathan Phillips, Geoff Walker and Colton Fretter.
The Steelers played a solid 60 minutes against the Flyers, they took a first period lead with just 6 seconds remaining in the period – Andreas Valdix the scorer. It had though been a period Paul Thompson side had controlled.
After a 1-0 first period the Steelers duplicated once again in the second.
The only goal of the period coming from Levi Nelson at 26.54 for a 2-0 scoreline after 40 minutes.
In games gone by at Ice Sheffield many would have still be nervous watching from the stands but this was a different Steelers in full control.
The start of the third period though was a pleasant surprise and much reward for the effort the team had shown.
Four Steelers goals between 41.21 and 44.43 ensured a comfortable end to the night.
3-0 – Walker assisted Fitzgerald and Desbiens 4-0 Jonathan Phillips assisted Yared Hagos. 5-0 Colton Fretter assisted Markus Nilsson and Mathieu Roy 6-0 John Armstrong assisted Geoff Walk and Guillaume Desbiens
The Fife Flyers were to score late on and break Ervins Mustukovs latest attempt for his first shut out of the season. Thinel scoring with just over 8 minutes remains.
The scoreline remained at Steelers 6-1 Fife Flyers.
