Then following a Scott Simmonds roughing minor Steelers added a 3rd, the second of the night for Dowd (goal number 300) on the power-play
Just the single strike in the middle period, Dowd’s hat-trick goal with 23 seconds remains (4-0)
The final period saw Sheffield ramp it up once again with a further three without reply
Piche with a bomb on the PP at 44.31 (assisted Petgrave and Dowd)
Connolly finishing off a great move with McNally and Mitchell for 6-0
Then Ciampini (Allen and Jones) at 51.06 made it 7-0
Storm did hit back with a late consolation effort from Ohrvall with 2.37 remaining.
Robert Dowd won the Steelers man off the match award and led the “Happy New Year Message) for his Eddy.
