With Adrian Saxrud-Danielsen returning to the line-up and Brad Day making his Steelers comeback by backing up Barry Brust, the Steelers were never required to move out of second gear as they cruised to victory over the Fife Flyers.
To give well-earned credit to the Fife Flyers who skated with only 4 d-men, they stook in their plan well of frustrateing the Steelers from flowing freely and pulled the game back within one goal with less than 4 minutes to go.

The Steelers did the hard work in the first period as Polak and Eberle beat Owen at 1.03 and 15.31 respectively. Eberle with the play of the night as he somehow managed to control the long stretch pass from Robert Dowd, hold off the Flyers defenceman and beat Owen high with a beautiful backhand.

Then came a scoreless second period before Polak provided the finish with only 10 seconds remaining on the clock as he broke away and slotted the puck home in an empty net as Owen sat for the extra attacker.

Tanner Eberle picked up the Man of the Match award and went Pole Vaulting on his victory lap.

With all the top three teams in the table winning tonight, there isn’t much movement to talk about, but a vital two points for the Steelers nonetheless.
