In Dallas Sunday, the Stars unfortunate skid continued as they lost to the Vancouver Canucks, 4-1, for their eighth straight loss.
“I think we’ve got to look at the energy, we’ve got to look at everything,” Stars head coach Ken Hitchcock said.
Mattias Janmark scored the lone Stars goal when he staked the club to an early 1-0
lead.
The Stars dropped to 38-30-8 and are five points back of the St Louis Blues for the second wild card spot in the Western Conference.
“We have six more games,” Stars’ John Klingberg said. “If we play perfect, then maybe we have a chance [to make the playoffs]. It will be tough, but we have stay professional and try to do it.”
Reid Boucher, Nic Dowd, Jake Virtanen and Tyler Motte pushed the Canucks to the win with goals as they overcame the early deficit.
Jacob Markstrom made 30 saves to pick up the win as the Canucks improved to 27-40-9 and are just playing out the season and spoiling their competition’s chances of a playoff berth these days.
The boo-birds were out in force as the fans in Dallas rained their displeasure down on the ice.
“When you’re not winning in any line of work, when it comes to being an athlete, you’re going to get that sometimes. It certainly isn’t the first time I’ve heard it. They’re entitled to do it if they want. They’re the ones paying to come watch us play and we’re not giving them a proper performance,” the Stars’ Marc Methot said after the game.

Kari Lehtonen made 23 saves in the loss.
“We don’t deserve to win right now. We were doing all the right things before games. Coaches give us all the information. We just don’t execute,” the Stars’ John Klingberg said after the dismal effort and loss.
