The story in Chicago was the debut of Mats Zuccarello for the Dallas Stars.
Zuccarello had a goal and assist in a 4-3 win for the Stars over the Blackhawks.
But the night ended earlier for the forward as he sustained an upper body injury and will lost for four weeks.
“Yeah, blocked a shot and it hit me the wrong way, so it’s unfortunate,” Zuccarello said “It [stinks].”
Zuccarello was forced out in the second period.
“Unfortunately it was only two periods, but his playmaking, his vision, you saw it from the first shift on and it was fun to play with him,” Stars forward Tyler Seguin said.
Radek Fasek, Alexander Radulov and Jason Spezza also scored for Dallas who improved to 31-26-5.
Anton Khudobin made 44 saves in the victory.
“Oh yeah, it’s a great win,” Khudobin said. “We got two new guys, we have other guys too, and everyone stepped up today. We had to recover after [Saturday] night’s game (3-0 loss against the Carolina Hurricanes). Overall, we played really well.
“As a team, the emotions, there was energy there. Keep moving forward, because there are a lot of games in front of us.”
Chris Kunitz, Drake Caggiula and Jonathan Toews scored for the Hawks.
Patrick Kane’s point streak ended at 20 games.
“He had a good run,” Chicago head coach Jeremy Colliton said. “He’s been very important for us. He finds a way to produce every night. If you look at the game, watched the game, told me he didn’t get a point, he was involved. It just didn’t go in for him or for the guys he’s playing with, but I’m sure he’ll start a new one next game.”
Chicago dropped to 2628-9.

Cam Ward made 25 saves in the loss.
“I mean at the end of the day, I think we worked hard, but we didn’t get the job done so it stings. It was obviously two big division games, but nothing we can do it about it now and just try to get two points here in Anaheim,” Duncan Keith said after the loss.
