In Dallas Friday night, Jeff Carter’s two goals were not enough to get the Los Angeles Kings a win but they were enough to at least get a loser’s point in a 3-2 loss to the Stars.
Carter scored his 18th and 19th goals of the season as the Kings fell to 17-13-4.
“Pucks are just finding me,” Carter said “I’m going to the net and I got a couple tap-ins tonight.”
Jeff Zatkoff made 28 saves in the loss.
“I mean, it’s good to get the point,” Carter said. “Wish we got two. [Zatkoff] played a good game for us, made some big saves, especially against that big line (Jason Spezza with Seguin and Benn) early. They were moving all night tonight, you know. We kind of shot ourselves in the foot a little bit with a couple bad changes.”
Esa Lindell scored early in extra time to get Dallas the win.
The goal came a 2-on-1 breakout with Jamie Benn.
“Saw they were changing one guy and saw the opportunity to get a 2-on-1,” Lindell said. “That was pretty easy to put in from that pass.”
Tyler Seguin and Radek Faksa were the Dallas goal scorers.
“I thought [Faksa] was really good. He was the guy again tonight I tried to double-shift,” Stars head coach Lindy Ruff said. “You need guys that win battles.”

Kari Lehtonen made 29 saves in getting the win as Dallas improved to 14-14-7 on the season.
The Kings still have two games left on their nine-game roadie and head coach Darryl Sutter was typical dry self after the loss.
“I had a great trip. Visited seven states, get another one tonight, couple days in California, and then you get to a couple provinces,” Sutter said of the long trip.
