Stars tie it late, defeat Flames in OT, 4-3

In the extra session, Tyler Seguin struck for the game-winner for 4-3 decision.

“It’s a good feeling that you get results for how we play,” Seguin said. “Last night, we grind it out, and the Dallas Stars were in overtime in a 0-0 game. You don’t see that too much. Tonight, we found a way to win again, so we got to keep grinding those out on the road. We’re finding something. We have a belief in here on the road now.”

Seguin’s goal came with just 24 seconds gone in the period.

Anton Khudobin made 30 saves to get the win.

Garnet Hathaway, Johnny Gaudreau and Mark Giordano scored for the Flames who had rallied form a 2-1 deficit to take a 3-2 lead.

“We’re fortunate to get a point out of the game tonight,” coach Bill Peters said. “I didn’t think we were very good. I didn’t think our attention to detail was very good and our commitment to doing it right wasn’t where it needs to be to get two points.”

The Flames dropped to 14-9-2 with the loss.

“We had complete control when we took the lead,” Giordano said. “We gave them the tie and just cost ourselves a point with a couple bad plays. It’s tough to swallow right now, honestly, I thought we should have won that one.”

David Rittich made 24 saves in the loss.

“Losing [stinks], obviously. Losing that way, it’s even worse. You come back in a game and get a lead, then give it back and give them an easy one there in overtime. That’s on us, that’s on me, and I take the fall for that,” the Flames’ Sean Monahan said after the game.
