Stars outlast Coyotes in 5-4 win

It just gets worse in the desert for the Arizona Coyotes.  On Thursday  night they dropped to 0-6-1 on the season in a 5-4 loss to the Dallas Stars.

Tyler Seguin struck for two goals in the third period for the Stars in the win.

“I really liked the way our big boys (Seguin and Jamie Benn) played,” Stars head coach Ken Hitchcock saids. “Our top players played and carried the day, and that’s what you need if you’re going to win on the road.”

The Coyotes’ Clayton Keller scored twice in the loss.

Derek Stepan also had two goals for the Coyotes.

“If we put efforts like this together, we’re going to start getting results to come our way. I promise,” Stepan said.

Arizona’s top line is scoring but their secondary lines are AWOL.

“You want secondary scoring,” Coyotes head coach Rick Tocchet said. “It doesn’t come easy for some guys. That’s why they’ve got to keep working hard.”

Ben Bishop made 27 saves to pick up his fourth win of the season for Dallas.

Stephen Johns, Radek Faksa and Jamie Benn, also scored for the Stars.

“It’s a road game and we got two points. That’s how we’re leaving here. We knew it was going to be greasy. The early road games in this league to start a season almost always are. It’s almost like playoff hockey until everyone in the League settles in, and no one has settled in yet,”Seguin said after the road win.
