Stalock, Wild shut out Vegas

In St Paul, Alex Stalock made 26 saves as the Minnesota Wild blanked the Vegas Golden Knights, 4-0, on Tuesday night.

“We need to prove that we want it, and tonight was a good effort to prove that we have a club,” Stalock said. “That was a good team to play against.”

Joel Eriksson Ek, Zach Parise, Kevin Fiala, and Jared Spurgeon scored for the Wild.

“[Fiala’s] feeling it right now. He’s buzzing,” Parise said. “I think we’ve had some good chemistry throughout the year when we’ve played together. … We’re getting those long, extended end-zone shifts and rush chances and we’re getting power-play looks too. It’s been fun.”

Marc-Andre Fleury got the start for the Knights and surrendered all four goals to Wild; he made 20 saves in 40 minutes.

“I think we thought it was going to be a game where we come in here because we’ve been playing pretty well things would be easy, and in this league it’s never easy, especially with this team in this building,” Vegas’ Nate Schmidt said. “We just didn’t have the same intensity that they had tonight.”

Malcolm Subban made five saves in the third period mop up.
