Sound Tigers extend series with OT win over Bears

Matt Lorito scored 1:13 into overtime as Bridgeport sent its Atlantic Division semifinal series to the limit with a 3-2 win in Hershey on Thursday night.

Lorito’s wrist shot from the left-wing circle eluded Vitek Vanecek and gave the Sound Tigers their second OT win of the series.

It was also Bridgeport’s first-ever win on the road when facing elimination (1-6).

The Bears led by a goal twice on tallies from Ryan Sproul and Jayson Megna.

But the Sound Tigers answered both times, with Stephen Gionta tying the game at 1-1 early in the second period and Oliver Wahlstrom netted his first career playoff goal at 1:56 of the third.

Christopher Gibson (2-1) stopped 22 shots for Bridgeport.

Vanecek (1-1) made 37 saves for Hershey.
