Social Media Incident Following EIHL Game Incident has been reported to appropriate authorities

The Elite Ice Hockey League is aware of an incident on Sunday 21 September in which discriminatory comments were directed at one of our players on social media.

Racism, homophobia, and all forms of discriminatory or hateful behaviour are unacceptable and will not be tolerated in our league – whether online, at games, or in any setting connected to our teams and competitions.

The matter has been reported to the appropriate authorities. The individual concerned has been issued with a lifetime ban from the arenas of the teams involved, and the Elite League has extended this ban to cover all league venues.

The Elite Ice Hockey League remains committed to ensuring that our sport provides a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for everyone. Hate has no place in hockey, or anywhere else.

More than 40,000 fans attended Elite League games in Week 2, and we thank them, and the wider hockey community, for standing with us in upholding these values.
