In Calgary, Mike Smith made 31 saves to shut out the visiting Minnesota Wild, 2-0.
Elias Lindholm provided all the offense Smith needed with both goals.
“You always want to win every game,” Lindholm said. “Minnesota played a good game. [Smith] made some huge saves for us at key moments, so we have to thank him for this one.”
The Flames improved to 18-9-2.
“We found ways to score,” Lindholm said. “I think it’s good for us and good for the team. We keep finding ways to score and keep winning.”
Calgary has now gone 8-1-1 in their 10 games.
The Wild dropped to 15-11-2,
“I thought we were sloppy. Right from the get-go, they have two really good chances in the first five minutes. I always think for the most part the effort is there, but for a lot of our guys, they weren’t handling the puck well. (Goalie) Alex [Stalock] played a really good game and kept us in there, especially at the beginning,” Wild head coach Bruce Boudreau said.

Alex Stalock made 18 saves in the loss.
“I thought we were good again,” Stalock said. “It’s been three games in a row where we’ve played good, honest hockey. We’re just not getting bounces right now, I think.”
