Skjei, Rangers settle on six-year deal Hayes, Spooner remain on track for arbitration

On Saturday, Brady Skjei and the New York Rangers avoided arbitration by agreeing on a six-year contract.

Terms of the deal were not released by CapFriendly.com has the Rangers’ cap space estimated at $15.5 million.

That leaves enough cash laying around to sign the last few restricted free agents on the list.

“I think I’ll play a few more minutes this year,” Skjei said . “I’ll try to bring the best I can bring to the table. … All the younger guys have a chance to step up. We have a lot of guys that can really prove themselves this year, and I’m excited for that.”

Arbitration hearings are scheduled for both Kevin Hayes and Ryan Spooner this coming week.
