HENDERSON, Nev. – The Henderson Silver Knights (31-28-4-1) bested the Stockton Heat (43-14-4-2), and earned five of the six available points for the series, including the 4-1 win Saturday afternoon. The Silver Knights are the only team to hand the Heat multiple losses during the season, for a total of four of seven matches.
The solo goal of the first period belonged to Henderson. Brayden Pachal’s shot from the top of the circle was redirected by Paul Cotter, beating Dustin Wolf stick side into the net. Many of the stoppages in play throughout the period resulted in some extra activities, while officials worked to de-escalate things. There were 28 minutes of penalties were assessed during the period as well (five power plays), but neither team capitalized on the man advantages.
The second period continued much like the first. At 11:45 into the period, Tyrell Goulbourne and Jermaine Loewen dropped the gloves, following a brief skirmish behind the Henderson net. The Silver Knights again scored the lone goal at the 12:31 marker. Pavel Dorofeyev’s shot from the top of the circle hit the back of the net, to give Henderson the 2-0 advantage. Dorofeyev leads Henderson in goals with 26 (22 assists, 48 points).

The Heat would have some work to make up the two-goal deficit in the final stanza, but it just wasn’t meant to be, as Justin Kirkland’s lone goal would not be enough. The Silver Knights Gage Quinney and Brendan Brisson also scored to put Henderson up 4-1 for the final.
Wolf has posted three consecutive losses in his professional career with today’s loss.
Stockton leads the Pacific Division, with a five-point cushion over the Ontario Reign, and a magic number of six, with five games remaining in the season. The Heat returns home to take on the Tucson Roadrunners on Wednesday.
