The Rail Yard Dawgs announced on Friday that Brant Sherwood has signed to return for Roanoke’s training camp in early October.
Sherwood played a combined 161 regular season games in four seasons in the SPHL. A native of Rochester, New York, the six-foot forward first appeared on the Rail Yard Dawgs roster in the 2019-2020 season. During the 2020-2021 season, Sherwood helped on the bench as an assistant coach for the Columbus River Dragons.
“I am excited to see him back on the ice after some time seeing the game as a coach,” said Coach Bremner about Sherwood returning to Roanoke. “I’m expecting Brant to step into a leadership role for our team this season. He is a scrappy player with a ton of experience that contributes to all aspects of the game.”
