Sheffield Steelers 6 v 0 Braehead Clan EIHL 29/10/17

SHEFFIELD, UK – Big John Armstrong was simply untouchable on Sunday night scoring twice and having a 5 point night in a 6-0 beating of the Braehead Clan.

Joonas Ronnberg rounded off his last game as a Steelers with a goal and a fantastic performance – he received a standing ovation from the SOLD-OUT Ice Sheffield crowd and rewarded fans with his own “Eddy” at the end of the night.Without Colton Fretter (suspended) Jonas Westerling (injured) and Brady Ramsay the Steelers promoted 16 year old Kieran Brown up the line up to make four lines against a tired looking Clan side, also playing their 3rd game in as many nights.

Steelers were off to a flyer leading 3-0 after the first period.

It took the Steelers until 14.13 to score their first, outstanding play from Liam Kirk set up Andreas Jamtin for a simple tap in (1-0)

At 17.09 Joonas Ronnberg hammered a 2nd

Then just 31 seconds later Armstrong scored his first of the night to all but put the game out of Braeheads reach by the 20 minute mark.

The second period was scoreless with the Steelers still creating the best of the chances.

The 4th goal did come, but not until 48.27, Armstrong the scorer with Brown and Deveaux assisting.

Matt Marquardt kept his impressing scoring form going with a 5th

Then to round off the night Andre Deveaux scored his first goal for the Steelers on the Power-Play for a final 6-0 scoreline.

Big John Armstrong was the Steelers man of the match and completed the first “Eddy” of the night.

Then at the request of his team mates Joonas Ronnberg did his own “Eddy” to a standing ICE Sheffield ovation on his last performance in Sheffield.
